Friends Premier League 2026: Season Recap and the July Showdown Ahead

The 2026 Friends Premier League season at Jaypee Greens has, in five short months, become one of the most rewarding chapters in our community's calendar. From the March opener hosted by Rajiv Ohri & Team to the four-host Jaypee Members Trophy and the two-day May tour put on by Ravinder Kumar, every event has been organised, hosted and played by the members themselves — a tradition that defines what Friends League is about.

With the next Premier League stop set for 3rd–4th July at Jaypee Greens, Greater Noida, this is a good moment to look back at the season so far, and to set the stage for the weekend ahead.

The 2026 Premier League season so far

13th March — Friends Premier League hosted by Rajiv Ohri & Team

The season opener, hosted by Rajiv Ohri and his team, set the tone for 2026. Played on a single day at Jaypee Greens, the format brought together Premier League team captains and players for the first competitive outing of the year. As is tradition at Friends League, the host team takes responsibility for course set-up, pin positions, and the matchplay pairings — and that personal investment shows in the way the day unfolds.

17th April — MCRE Friends Premier League hosted by Balbir Singh Nagpal

A month later, Balbir Singh Nagpal and the MCRE side took on hosting duties for the April leg. Run as a one-day tour, the event was the second instalment of the Premier League calendar and continued the season's emphasis on rotating hosts. With more teams competing for ranking points heading into summer, the field was noticeably stronger than the opener.

24th April — Jaypee Members Trophy (Four-Host Special)

The Jaypee Members Trophy on 24th April was a season highlight — co-hosted by ST Eagles, BSN Legends, Team Falcons and MCRE Aces. Four Premier League teams sharing hosting duties is unusual, and the Members Trophy format reflected that: a single day of competition with multiple team representatives helping coordinate scoring, format, and the post-round dinner. For many regulars, it was the most-attended PL day of the year.

28th–29th May — FriendzLeague Tour hosted by Ravinder Kumar

The first two-day Premier League tour of 2026 was hosted by Ravinder Kumar in late May. Spanning Friday and Saturday at Jaypee Greens, the 28th–29th May tour gave players the longer-form Premier League experience: two competitive rounds, a leaderboard that built over the weekend, and the kind of social evenings that turn a tournament into a community event. The two-day format is something we expect to see more of in the second half of the season.

What's next — 3rd & 4th July at Jaypee Greens

The next Premier League stop is a two-day Premier League weekend on Thursday 3rd July and Friday 4th July 2026 at Jaypee Greens, Greater Noida. The two-day format follows on directly from May's tour — two rounds, full Premier League team representation, and a leaderboard that runs the full weekend.

Players can view the team page for the latest captain and roster updates, and the tournaments page will carry live leaderboards once play gets underway. Registration and team confirmations go through the usual channels; if you are a Premier League team member and have not received your slot from your captain, reach out before the start of the week.

What we are watching for in July

Three things will define the 3rd–4th July weekend:

  1. Team depth. The two-day format rewards squads with consistent middle-order play, not just one or two strong scorers. Teams that quietly built points in March and April are well placed to convert in July.
  2. Course conditions. Early July at Jaypee Greens typically means firm fairways and quick greens, after the heat of June and before the heavier monsoon weeks. Course management — knowing when to lay up and when to attack — will matter more than raw distance.
  3. The season standings. With this being the fifth Premier League event of the calendar, points earned here will start to separate the contenders. Expect captains to manage their player line-ups carefully across the two rounds.

How to follow the action

If you are not playing, you can still follow every shot:

The Premier League season runs through the end of 2026, with further tours expected after the monsoon. Hosts, formats, and dates will be announced on this page as they are finalised. For now, the focus shifts to a busy week of practice rounds and team meetings — and a familiar two days at Jaypee Greens.

See you on the first tee.
